MySilenceLog Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 29, 2026
MySilenceLog measures how quiet a place is with your iPhone's microphone for 30 seconds, saves the result under a place name, and lets you compare places. No account is required. The app has no networking, so every feature works without an internet connection.
Personal information we collect
None. This app collects no personal information whatsoever. It does not obtain your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, photos, or any other personal data. It never asks you to create an account or sign in.
What is stored on your device
The following is stored only on your iPhone. No one, including the developer, can see it.
- For each place: the name you gave it and the time it was created.
- For each measurement: when it was taken, its average, minimum, and maximum relative levels (numbers from 0 to 100), its duration, and the optional note you entered.
No audio is stored. You can delete a place and all of its measurements from within the app.
How the app uses the microphone
- Microphone permission is requested the first time you start a measurement. The microphone is used only while a measurement is running.
- While measuring, the app reads the sound input on the device and keeps only a loudness value computed from it. The audio itself is never recorded to a file, saved, or sent anywhere.
- If you do not allow microphone access, the app cannot take measurements. You can change this at any time in the Settings app.
Data transmission and tracking
- No data is transmitted to external servers.
- The app does not use analytics or tracking technologies.
- The app does not use iCloud sync.
- Deleting the app removes all data it has stored on the device.
